Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
Welcome to Bungendore High School. We look forward to welcoming our new students in 2026 and developing great working partnerships with our new parents and carers.
It is a privilege to be involved in the development of Bungendore High School, where contemporary teaching and learning practices are embraced to support continuous student improvement and mastery.
We take pride in providing diverse opportunities that enable every student to achieve personal success.
Our school cultivates a positive learning environment grounded in kindness, consideration, and respect, guided by four key character habits: Empowerment, Perseverance, Integrity and Community.
Student wellbeing is central to our approach, with a strong focus on developing adaptive, resilient and reflective learners.
Our school-wide program, We are Crew - which emphasises active participation rather than passive involvement - supports students through daily small group sessions led by crew leaders.
These sessions foster team building, social and emotional skills development, and learning strategies, ensuring every student feels known, valued and cared for throughout their educational journey.
At Bungendore High School, we promote positive behaviour through clear expectations for students to be Engaged, Responsible, Compassionate and Respectful.
These values are explicitly taught and embedded in daily school life to nurture productive and empathetic members of our global community.
In partnership with Bungendore, Gundaroo and Sutton Public Schools within the Weereewaa Community of Schools, we are collaboratively expanding middle school opportunities and strengthening our support networks.
I am very proud to be leading Bungendore High School alongside an extremely talented, inspiring and hard-working staff who are constantly exploring ways to ensure our innovative teaching and learning practices are purposeful and engaging, without losing sight that students are always at the centre of what we do.
Melissa Giddins, Principal of Bungendore High School
